Jewelry Care
Taking care of your jewelry is crucial to keep it looking its best.
KEEP IT DRY!
The fastest way to tarnish your jewelry is by contact with moisture and liquids. This includes putting on lotions, washing your hands, a spritz of perfume, and sweating with your jewelry on. Even the oils on your skin can wear down the plating and metals over time - this will vary from person to person. Get your jewels wet by accident? Be sure to wipe and dry them off right away!
STORAGE
Exposure to the simplest things, like the moisture in the air, can wear down your jewels, so it's important to store them properly. All of the jewels you receive from us come with a cotton pouch - use this to keep your jewels protected from the sun and safe from scratches and chips.
Try a Ziploc bag. Before sealing it, you'll want to remove as much air as possible. This will prevent the metal from oxidizing.
To keep your pieces in the best shape, get some 3M anti-tarnish strips. These super absorbent pieces of paper will suck all of the particles in the surrounding air that will cause your jewelry to tarnish over time. Stick one in your jewelry drawer, jewelry box, or storage pouch.
CHAINS
Our 1mm-1.2mm chains are dainty, so a bit of care should be taken, especially with our longer chains, from snags and knocking about the pendants to avoid breaking the chain or scratching or chipping the pendants. Unless you like the chipped look, then, by all means, knock away!
STONES & CRYSTALS
Stones and crystals should only be wiped with a damp, not wet, soft cloth. You can also cleanse and charge the stones using a Selenite stick to keep the good energy flowing.
Our natural stone and crystal bracelets are very durable; they can be worn while working out, doing dishes, or bathing. However, I would limit doing these things if you want them to last a super long time. With constant wear, the cording will eventually start to feather/fray, but they are durable little buggers.
